Frog in the well is a Chinese idiom which means a narrow-minded person.
A frog that lives in the well feels that it is the only world.
This proverb describes an individual who cannot or
refuses to see the big picture. For example, you have no idea what skills are
required because you are stuck in the same job with the same skills for a long
time.
Anyone can relate this to his/her life experience
and condition. Suppose a person working as a teacher in the same school for
many years doesn't have an idea about what's advancement is going on in other
schools until he hears or sees or joins another school. He feels that he knows
everything. He has many skills but once he is forced to move to any other
school, he gets to know that what he knows is not enough. He doesn't have
enough skills. In a new place, he will learn a lot and a lot. Also, his
perspective will be changed about everything.
Taking some of the examples
of an angry Principal: If you are seeing your Principal harsh attitude
towards employees there are chances that you will be like that or you think
Principals are like that it's normal. But once you moved to another school and
saw that the Principal is behaving very nicely and is cooperative with
employees your perspective will change. You will learn how to be nice even when
you are on high posts. We all knew about the story of a frog of a well. It's
not mean that frogs only live in a well. It is a well-known proverb.
Same as that you are going to learn about rules,
teaching techniques, and creativity. You will get polished. But if you will
stick to the same place and the same people you are not going to explore the
world. There is a need to stick to some people forever but not with all.
We were born as blank-minded. We don't have any
knowledge of anything. With time we learn many things. We learn how to speak
and walk. Learn the names of the things. Learn face and eye expressions. Learn
how to wear clothes and shoes.
Learning is a lifetime process. We all do that all
over life. Learning about society is very important because we all are living
in different societies and cultures.
· We
always learn something.
· Little
information is not enough.
· We
should learn.
· We
should explore things.
We should learn all the things. Book knowledge is
not enough. We can seek knowledge from newspapers, magazines, people, and
different things.
